Gluten Free White Duck Taco

If you’re looking for gluten-free tacos in Asheville, White Duck Taco is a restaurant worth adding to your list. Originally founded in Asheville, White Duck Taco has grown to multiple locations across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. While each location has its own atmosphere, they all share the restaurant’s signature approach to creative taco combinations. The menu also features plenty of options for a variety of dietary preferences.

I visited White Duck Taco many times while living in Asheville. I always appreciated that I could enjoy a flavorful meal without making many modifications to make it gluten-free. Although the original Riverside Drive location was my favorite, it unfortunately has not yet reopened following Hurricane Helene. Thankfully, several other Asheville-area locations continue to serve the same creative tacos that made White Duck a local favorite.

Environment

White Duck Taco has a casual, laid-back atmosphere that fits Asheville’s unique personality. No matter what adventure your into, White Duck is an easy place to wind down and enjoy a relaxed meal after.

It’s also a popular stop for visitors, so don’t be surprised if it’s busy during peak meal times. Many locations offer both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great option for enjoying Asheville’s beautiful weather when available.

If you’re planning to visit, keep in mind that menu offerings may vary slightly between locations. Be sure to review the online menu before your visit. No matter which location you visit, I bet you’ll find something you will enjoy.

Food

One of the things that makes White Duck Taco stand out is its creative taco menu. Instead of traditional taco combinations, you’ll find unique flavors inspired by cuisines from around the world. Many of the tacos are served on corn tortillas. Several options are also naturally gluten-free without requiring significant modifications.

During my time in Asheville, I had the opportunity to try several of their gluten-free tacos. My favorite was a falafel taco that is not currently listed on the online menu. I also highly enjoyed the Steak & Cheese taco. The menu changes from time to time, which gives you a reason to come back and try something new.

I also rarely skipped the chips and queso. If you know me, you know I love a good chips and queso. But don’t forget to ask if the chips are free of cross-contact.

Beyond the food, White Duck Taco offers a variety of beverages, including specialty drinks and adult beverages, making it a fun choice for a taco night or margarita outing with friends.

As always, if you have Celiac disease or require a strict gluten-free diet, let the staff know about your dietary needs when ordering. Ask any questions you have about preparation practices. While many menu items are labeled gluten-free, it’s important to confirm ingredients and procedures with the location you’re visiting.

Final Thoughts on Gluten Free White Duck Taco

White Duck Taco remains one of my favorite places for gluten-free tacos in Asheville. The creative flavor combinations make every visit feel a little different. I appreciate that many of the tacos are served on corn tortillas, making it easier to order gluten-free.

Whether you’re a local looking for a casual meal or visiting Asheville for the first time, White Duck Taco offers a fun dining experience with plenty of flavorful options. If you enjoy trying unique taco combinations and appreciate restaurants that offer choices for a variety of dietary needs, this is definitely a spot I’d recommend adding to your Asheville itinerary.
